Eagle Scout Project

Padraig's Eagle Scout Project will be benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of the Harbor Area - Lou Yantorn Branch.  He'll be building a roof structure over a trash dumpster enclosure and providing attractive new doors to keep out animals and illegal trash dumping and generally beautify a difficult area.

The work site is 2131 Tustin Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92627 (map)

Project dates are set for Feb 16 and 17, 2013. Work times are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day with leadership and supervision by Karen Mulholland and Laurel Golden.

There is no cost for this activity. Water, light refreshments and lunch are provided for participants.

Please bring work gloves, hat and sunscreen, eye protection (if you have it), and wear close toed shoes.

  • Day 1 plan is to remove and demolish the old roof top and doors and start construction on the new roof and doors.
  • Day 2 plan is to finish the roof structure and finish building and hanging the doors.

He is still soliciting cash donations and tools to borrow. Currently needed are saw horses/work tables, hammers, 8' and 12' ladders.

This project can also be used toward school community service hours. Up to 16 hours are on offer.

Youth will need a parent to sign a liability release form.
